On the Brink of Spring
This picture of Fairbanks Park on the banks of the Wabash on the first day of April was taken with a three times optical magnification from the west end of the Ohio Street bridge then digitally cropped using a free program called Picasa2.
I'm not used to seeing the left bank of the Wabash from this angle. I easily recognize the white crossing arches that were a fountain but I had to look at the picture a long time to understand that the red roof, so close to the fountain from this perspective, is part of the concert pavillion complex that includes the facade of the old Post Office.
Many of the trees and shrubs are budding and we won't see through them many more weeks. We are on the brink of spring.
