Otter Creek Twp. School 1917 - 1961
The eligibility rules for Otter Creek reunions are simple enough: if you are still alive and you went to Otter Creek, come on up.
All that's left of the 1917 school that closed in 1961 is the gymnasium building and memories. The class of 55 had their own private 50th reunion at the Rod and Gun club Friday night and then all classes met in the old gym this morning for an hour or two of lively chatter.
We'll have a dinner tonight at St. Mary's and the reservation list includes a 1923 graduate (you do the math) and several from the 30s and the rest from the following 3 decades and Judy HART McFall (58) and spouse. Some who started at Otter Creek and finished at a city school consider themselves (for these purposes) Otter Creek 62 or later.
Someone at Otter Creek has preserved more than 70 years of photos and sorted them into large white notebooks which sit on tables in the old gym for times like today and they have pictures of the each graduating class from 1939 to the end framed in the hallways. More about that later.
