Clay City
Terre Haute's Deming Park has a fine new playground but some of us like to play in smaller towns. Bryce and Jeanette have carved out a small piece of the American Dream in nearby Clay City (more clay than city) and seem happy as clams therein. I want to teach my grandsons that some folks live in small cities and some in small towns. Soon I'll take them to the country where they can see a livestock farm and see rural life. This is heady stuff for boys from that endless city that is Southern California.
The Wests graciously shared their homes with us for a few hours and Bryce showed us around town and picked up the tab at the A&W. The sheep crossing was of great interest to our party - as was the playground they've built at the fairgrounds. Bryce sat with me on the granny glider swing and talked about programming and computers while the 2 boys explored the playground equipment. Then Bryce arose and climbed up the tallest slide and descended.
I rode back from the fairgrounds with 3 boys.
