Around Wiley


The block north of the old Wiley High School on the west side of South 7th Street hasn't changed much in 50 years. Flower shop, and others leading to the Indiana Theater. The Bouliez donut shop has been replaced by a tattoo parlor. The block where Wiley sat is the site of the Public Library. It was hard for me to picture what the old Terre Haute High School and Wiley campus looked like so I looked at an old map -

This, taken in 1955, uncropped football team photo shows the back of the gym, the steeple of the Methodist Temple and the Wiley Annex at right, and the main building on the left.
