this and that about Wiley now and then
From the perspective of the WTHI TV tower cam 500 feet above the station on Ohio Street, the Vigo County Public Library looks like a wide "W" on the site where we spent those formative years. Remember the Wiley mascot, Archibald?
I have been told that Archibald was made of a diving suit and mask, covered with plaster of paris and dressed in Wiley fan gear. He appeared in the mid 50s and disappeared before the end of the decade. I think he had begun to smell.
The Duvall twins, Janice and Judith are strapless and John Bennett (right) is wearing shoulder pads under his dinner jacket. We sure did dress up in those days didn't we? The reunion committee can't find the Duvall twins and although some say they know where John Bennett is, they can't get him to register with Valley Reunions (he could just click on the link and fill in the form).
Lebowitz, Ross, Tindall, Carmichael and Baber in the corner of the gym. Some are wearing their painted yellow cords.
Kord and Leonard, when last seen together, were still wearing theirs.
